MIND-ED IN SCHOOLS
Imagine an educational system in which the students and staff learn mental wellness strategies and not just academics. Imagine a system that partners with Urban Zen Integrative Therapy™ (UZIT) complementary healing modalities. Imagine a system in which breath awareness, restorative yoga poses, essential oil therapy and self-regulation techniques are integrated with mainstream curriculum in a holistic approach to staff and student self-care. Imagine a system that actively addresses the stress, anxiousness, expectations and pressures on educators and students. Imagine a system that provides a whole education for the mind, body and heart to flourish in today’s learning environments. See what MIND-ED has to offer your educational institution!
VOWEL MODEL:
A, E, I, O, U - Y ™
Pre & Post Self-Reflections
MIND-ED developed the VOWEL MODEL: A, E, I, O, U - Y ™ approach to self-care in schools. In partnership with Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program™ (UZIT), MIND-ED addresses the primary symptoms represented by each letter. As the vowel letters are the foundation for every word, we believe a flourishing education requires the foundational tools to renew, restore and reflect for the body, mind and heart of everyone in schools.
A = Anxious
E = Exhaustion
I = Insomnia
O = Overwhelmed
U = Upset
Y = Your self-care
An Urban Zen Integrative Therapy™ session from MIND-ED is You-time...whether you are practicing our tools for five minutes or a full hour. All self-care tools taught in a MIND-ED session are portable, and can be easily used for You-time outside of a session.
The MIND-ED and Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program™ (UZIT) continually collects data and feedback to determine if participants are experiencing any of the symptoms in the VOWEL MODEL: A, E, I, O, U – Y ™ . This collection uses a scale of 0-10, with 0 being the least intense and 10 being the most intense. These data repeatedly show the positive reception of reducing the intensity for these symptoms after a MIND-ED session with students and staff.

BODY AWARENESS MEDITATION
Using simple, clear, specific words, Body Awareness Meditations are a relaxing way to reboot the nervous system by bringing our attention into the body. Studies have shown that these meditation practices offer the nervous system a deeper rest than if individuals are asleep because there can be considerable mental activity while sleeping. In a basic Body Awareness Meditation, we start at the head or feet and move in an organized way through the body.
