PARTICIPANT OUTCOMES

  •  Participants will experience a calming of the nervous system

  •  Participants will identify a self-care tool(s) to use in outside situations

  •  Participants will identify self-care tools to use daily

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Participants will be able to explain their experience with Urban Zen Integrative Therapy ™ (UZIT)

  • Participants will understand the similarities and differences between Urban Zen™ and mindfulness

  • Participants will learn basic facts about the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous system

  • Participants will experience a breath watching exercise to take home to practice

  • Participants will experience a breath awareness exercise to take home to practice

  • Participants will learn basic safety and precautions for using essential oils at home or in schools

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SESSIONS

• Link to "Zone of Regulation" and/or emotion scales

• Learn to understand the body and what it is telling you

• Connect with children's literature and poetry

• Cultivate mindfulness using easy to understand playful vocabulary and songs


MIDDLE SCHOOL SESSIONS

  • Create a comfortable, still quiet space to cultivate the inner voice

  • Encourage the acceptance of the growing and changing mind and body for a more positive self image

  • Offer unique alternatives to foster balance and harmony with social media

  • Connect authentically across curriculum and course of study

HIGH SCHOOL SESSIONS

• Emphasis on the self-care component of the VOWEL MODEL A, E, I, O, U - Y protocols
• Practice skills to support support healthy, balanced independent living
• Synthesize alternative techniques to balance and disconnect from social media
• Connect authentically across curriculum and course of study

FACULTY MEETINGS

• Introduce protocols to address compassion fatigue and 

teacher burn out

• Routine to support grounding, relationship building and productivity
